New Mini Series - 2 series review
In October 2006 BMW relaunched the Mini on the market. Style is not very different from its predecessor, dimensions slightly increased, but not aesthetically redesigned interior space and expanded to completely new engine. In order to contain production costs, is an engine developed in collaboration with PSA, a 1.600cc four-cylinder direct-injection version aspirated and turbo. The outputs are 120 horses (Cooper) and 175 horses (Cooper S).For Version One, has been introduced 1.400cc from 95 horses, with the sophisticated Valvetronic. Cooper D, new in this new series, has a source 1.600cm3 PSA-Peugeot 110 horses. Remains a disproportionate weight that affects engine performance and fuel consumption of engines thirsty with high operating costs of the car. Still unchanged cabriolet versions.
It is not difficult to grasp the differences, however slight, between the first and second series. The main difference is in the front: the grille is in style "single frame", and continues even on the bumper (the first series instead, on the bumper, grille had only a sham). It was not posed any action to review and improve the ABITALIA. Furthermore the side view, on the first round headlights not seen: on the second series, however, are clearly visible. The automatic transmission is now available on all models, is no longer type CVT, as the one that was mounted on the first Mini, but it is a true automatic transmission with torque converter and planetary gears. Models with this accessory range in weight (enhanced) and performance (consumption, max speed, acceleration), significantly worse than the manual transmission as standard.
